2014 was a whirlwind of a year for us at Amanda Douglas events. After our year in review from last year, so much more has changed, we’ve worked our little butts off and have been able to be a part of so much.
I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunities that we’ve had and the clients we’ve had a chance to work with.
Because I’m the hugest lover of lists here is my year in review of some things that I’m so thankful for and feel so blessed to have been a part of:
– I got to marry three of our couples this year.
– We started up (with the Lauren from Stone House Creative) Winnipeg’s first interactive workshop, Wed Prep Workshop.
– Our Pinterest continues to explode and we have 1900+ followers! (girls, who doesn’t love to pin right!?)
– Remember the photo shoot giveaway we talked about in our last review post? Well, it went beautifully and we couldn’t be happier with the results, and the feature we got on Magnolia Rouge (insert squeal of joy here)
– We got to explore the world of Instagram more and met (and booked) so many wonderful brides through that.
– I got to speak at the WPIC class here in Winnipeg.
– We had a booth in the It’s Love Bridal Showcase and because it’s what we do, we turned it all into a photo shoot (I mean, really you already half way there, just bring in a model)
– We wanted to give back, and so did some other amazing vendors here in Winnipeg. So we started Show Me the Love, the Ultimate Wedding Package. It was an auction of all of our services with all proceeds going to the Mood Disorder Association of Manitoba. And the winners wedding is coming this summer (they are the loveliest, we can’t wait!)
– I’m 100% overwhelmed with the amount of print and online features we received from Snippet & Ink, Wedding Chicks, Paper & Lace, Wedding Bells, It’s Love, and Canadian Mountain Chic (and that’s just a few of them!)
– Ever since before I was even married, I have been following Off Beat Bride. And it’s always been a dream to get a feature on the site, and we finally did, with the funnest couple ever; Kelly and Jacob.
– We were a part of 20 amazing wedding.
– Because were just plain and simple social people, we were a part of starting the Winnipeg chapter of the Manitoba Wedding Network.
– I get so many questions every week from brides and people considering joining the industry so I started a Q & A with Amanda blog series.
And of course 2014 seeped into 2015, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come next!
So far for us? 26 amazing weddings in the works, and many more on the horizon and I’m looking to 2016 and all the wonderful brides coming our way already (oh you 2016 brides, so keen and so ready to plan, I love it!)
I’m thankful every day that I get to do what I love and that I’ve been able to turn it into a full time (and then some!) career. I’m so exceptionally excited for 2015 and what’s planned and what sort of surprises will come too!
