Jenn & Bill’s Cielo’s Garden Wedding
Jenn and Bill had a beautiful Cielo’s Garden wedding. The day was warm, there was just a beautiful light breeze, and the sun was out. Mother Nature was welcoming them to their wedding day. It couldn’t have been more perfect.
Jenn and Bill were just the most darling. They were just the cutest little thing, cutest couple, it was always swoon-worthy being around them. I would definitely say that that is a true love sort of envy, and we love to see it with our clients.
We are usually at the venue before the couple; getting ready, setting up, checking on vendor deliveries, doing final touches my personal decor, making sure the caterers don’t need anything from us, checking on sound systems. You get the idea. But at Cielo’s Garden often the Bride and Bridesmaids are getting ready in the cute little white house on the front of the property. We got to go and visit Jenn earlier in the day than we normally do and she was just vibrating – and glowing – with excitement. She was so ready for her wedding day, so ready to see bill and, we were so ready with her.
We got working long distance with Jenn and Bill because they live in the south (Bill being an American with the cutest little hint of a southern accent in his voice).
Jenn happened to be in town a few times during their engagement so we were able to have some in person meetings which was always lovely (but Skype helped in the interim as well).
“This garden-inspired wedding at Cielo’s Garden was one of my favourites of the year. A unique take on a purple palette with some of the most subtle combinations (you’ve heard me say before that I think ultra-violet is one of the most offensive colours of all time but this? This take on purple was gooooood), flowers literally everywhere, and a light and airy feel that just made this wedding feel special. I would happily re-live this day over and over again!” – Lauren, Stone House Creative
There was a slight moment of panic (amount the ladies) when we realized that Jenn accidentally didn’t order enough bouquets. Doing a quick review of her contract with Stone House Creative she realized she hadn’t accounted for the extra bridesmaid she added.
Sometimes when you’re planning and you’ve got a lot of guests and wedding party members traveling those numbers can go up and down a little bit unexpectedly.
But we knew, having worked with Lauren from Stone House Creative so many times, this wouldn’t be a problem. She works her magic all the time, and a little extra fairy dust when needed that day. It was lucky that Lauren was still there (doing the ceremony install) and we were able to work together to make something happen.
She pulled a few pieces from here in there and created a bouquet so similar to the rest of the Bridesmaids that you couldn’t even tell there was a difference. This is why we always love working with a professional florist; someone with experience and great design taste. If there is a problem they know how to fix it. 15 minutes later problem solved.
“Working with Jenn was one of the best experiences I’ve had as a wedding floral designer. Why? Because she trusted me SO much. She loved my style, and she knew that with her busy life AND the fact that she doesn’t live in Winnipeg anymore, she decided to just hand over the reigns and chose not to worry about anything. That made this wedding a dream for both her and me! Outside of just flowers, she asked me for vendor recommendations (helllloooooo gluten free desserts!!) and when I suggested that she consider hiring a month-of wedding coordinator, she trusted me on that, too. I actually always recommend that couples getting married at a venue like Cielo’s Garden, where there isn’t a banquet coordinator on-site (like you’d find at a hotel or a golf course), always hire at least a month-of coordinator. There’s no need for you to have to run your entire reception when you could be enjoying it!” – Stone House Creative
Jen had beautiful vision for her day and added all sorts of personal touches like a wine bar from the region they met in, owl mason jars cups (for the party favour) because well she loves owls, and also lots of smaller personal touches throughout the ceremony and reception. She had a very elegant way of bringing together her and Bill‘s personalities into their overall wedding vibe.
Grandma acted as the ringbearer – pun intended – as she came down the aisle holding a bear with the rings.
The ceremony took place in the chapel on the Cielo’s Garden property. Afterward guests walked down the tree-shaded path towards the tent for a cocktail or full of games and laughter and a beautiful wine bar with a selection hand picked by the couple.
We dance right into the reception and I do have to say I’ve never met a more interactive group of guests at a wedding. To get the couple to kiss you had to tell a story, or sing a love song, or tell a marriage joke. These guests were amazing at all three and every moment they were up there everyone else was laughing and enjoying.
The day went on beautifully, the weather continue to be warm and cooled perfectly through the evening.
A big thanks to all the vendors, family, and friends that helped bring together Jenn & Bill wedding:
