We understand that most of the brides out there have never planned an event as large and extravagant as there wedding, and it can be stressful! That is why we decided to share with you a couple suggestions in how to get the best out of your vendors on your wedding day, to ensure that the day runs smoothly and that everyone is working together to ensure the efficiency of the event.

Hopefully you will be able to take some of the suggestions to heart, because we promise you, your wedding day will be that much better if you leave the stressing aside and let these professionals do what they do best!

1. Know and express your goals

    • Make sure you know what you want your overall feel for your wedding day to be, are you leaning more on the dramatic side, or are thinking of more of a romantic theme? You need to pin down your theme, and make sure your vendors know!
  • Most importantly, think of the 5 most important aspects of your special day and let your vendors know, this way everyone is on the same page in making sure you are happy and that the most important things to you are taken care of

2. What is your budget?

    • I know that this can be an extremely hard task as you’ve probably never had to price out flowers before, or how much you need and financially can spend to feed 150 people! Knowing your budget before hand is a god sent to vendors though, as the last thing they enjoy doing are multiple re quotes to try to trim down the budget
    • Make sure your comfortable with your vendors, the last thing you need is to feel like they are overcharging you. Take your budget to a couple vendors and compare quotes, this will give you a better idea of what you can expect. Keep in mind that sometimes it just might be a matter of not knowing a realistic cost for certain vendors so you might experience a little sticker shock, but rest assured, good vendors are worth their weight in gold.
  • Lastly, talk and listen to these professionals! They do this for a living and know a lot more about this than you, and can help you. After learning what your budget can get you, you can re-evaluate and alter it if your not happy, remember budgets aren’t carved in stone!

3. Let the professionals do their job

    • The last thing vendors enjoy is when the bride tries to micromanage. We completely understand how important this day is to you and that it is hard to give the reigns to others, but you must trust! You have hired these professionals for a reason and need to let them show you why you hired them in the first place
  • We can promise you that you will get the best from your vendors if you give a little direction, and let them work their magic!

4. Don’t withhold information

    • This is probably where most issues arise, and it’s due to simple miscommunication! We understand that you will be dealing with multiple people and probably won’t remember who you have told what to, so lets make it simple; email!
  • Create a master schedule, including a script of the ceremony and a contact list for day of communication. Once you have created your master schedule, send it to everyone you can think of! Bridesmaids, photographer, DJs, officiator… anyone you can think of. Giving your vendors this information will enable them to do their best work and will eliminate any unneeded miscommunication (Note: With us, we do this for and with you! Our Master Itineraries are 10-20 pages long and have everything you can think of in them! They go out to all your vendors so that everyone is on the same page and know what’s expected of them, so come day of your wedding we’re all working together like a fine oiled machine!)

5. Treat your vendors like VIPs

  • Most of your vendors on your wedding day will be on their way to working a full 8-12 hour day and they need to eat too! Make sure you have a table for them during the reception, usually brides sit all their vendors together; planners, photographers, Djs etc. They need to be treated as guests to your wedding as well, and remember, a full vendor is a happy one!
