Dark & Moody Restaurant Wedding
Celeana & Ray had the most beautiful Dark & Moody Restaurant Wedding. It was this interesting earthy mix of urban meets woodlands.
They picked a pub-like french restaurant – Peasant Cookery – for their ceremony and reception in the Exchange District of Winnipeg, with their cocktail hour just around the corner at another great restaurant. This wedding was a foodie’s dream.
A first look is always a must in our books. Then some photos wandering around downtown don’t hurt either.
Don’t be afraid of an amazing bold headpiece. I mean, look. It was the perfect addition and complete to Celeana bridal look.
The day started with their ceremony where the seats were laid out as a circle so all guests could get a great view, and Celeana and Ray could see their guests as well.
The couple was surrounded by the most beautiful floral and greenery arrangements mimicking a canopy of lush trees.
A bold, dark, and moody bouquet was a must for Celeana. It matched the rest of the reception florals amazingly and paired so well with the mood of the day and also the geo inspired stationery.
If you’re having a restaurant wedding but the space needs a flip (between ceremony and reception) it’s a fun idea to pick a nearby (walkabout) cocktail hour site. In this case, it was literally just around the corner.
Each place setting had a beautifully designed geode place card with hand-penned calligraphy (by Robin Egg Blue Design).
If you’re having a restaurant wedding it’s a great choice to work with the colours the space already has.
Don’t fight it, work it into your design.
In this case that was a total no brainer and the restaurant just added to the overall deepness to the design.
The dark walls and ceilings make it an easy choice to add in dark, rich blooms, berries, and greenery.
These large floral pieces were used again in the windows post ceremony.
Their dark and moody restaurant wedding was a beautiful mix of all the elements and accents you can see with a few of Celeana & Ray’s favourite things subtlely mixed in too.
The reception was filled with flowers, candlelight, some of their favourite quotes framed in the windows and, of course, their closest friends and family.
We decided on a lighter golden linens to ground the space and soften the dark florals just a little.
Each family left with their own personalized gift of tulip bulbs. Celeana loved the ideas of their guests be reminded of the wedding and gift again in spring when the tulips flowered.
The night was capped off like any great party should be; with fire dancers followed by a night full of dancing and delicious drinks.
A HUGE thanks to all the amazing vendors that brought together this stunning and unique Dark & Moody Restaurant Wedding
