A-line
More fitted in the body and flares out slightly at the bottom, creating the shape of the letter A.
Perfect for most body types and good for camouflaging bottom heavy figures.
Empire
The waistline of the dress of above the natural waistline of the bride, and can even rise up to just under the bust line.
Perfect for women with smaller busts or brides with petite figures. This silhouette lengthens the bride and disguises thicker waists and bottom-heavy figures.
Ball Gown
A long, formal dress with a very full-skirted bottom, and quite fitted at the bodice.
Perfect for average height or taller women as the full skirt can take over petite figures since it visually cuts the body in half. It is a very forgiving style though, hiding everything from the waist down: mid-section, hips and legs.
Sheath
A figure-hugging gown with a straight silhouette and a defined natural waistline.
Perfect for thinner and petite figures and well-toned bodies.
Trumpet
Made to resemble the mouth of the instrument, this silhouette fits close to the body until mid-hip, and then flairs out gradually to the hem. Compared to the below-the-knee flare of the mermaid style dress, the trumpet flairs out at a higher point.
Perfect for adding curves to a slender figure or accentuate the feminine curves you already have.
Mermaid
Fits closely to the body from the bodice to the knee, then flairs out to the hem.
Perfect for hourglass figures and body shapes.
