Elise & Phil’s Backyard Tent Wedding
Elise had a vision for her day but was struggling to bring to together. They hired us just under a year before the big day and we got started right away. With a backyard tent wedding there’s A LOT to think about.
They had the tent, the caterer, and a handful of other vendors but there was a lot still to do. We had to make a few adjustments to what was already booked as well to make the vision – and logistics – work.
Like any wedding there’s a lot to think about but with a tent wedding there’s that x 2. And if your hope is to spend a lot of the day outside you really do need to plan for the worst and hope for the best.
The last thing we want for our clients is to have a miserable day because we didn’t plan ahead and plan for rain, wind, or any number of natural issues.
Thankfully all of our planning and Plan Bs paid off and we got just what we asked for – an amazing sun shiny day.
Elise & Phil had a really classic style but they still wanted some colour in the mix. They wanted to have the feel of a grand wedding but on the scale of something personal and close to home. With those things in mind it’s clear why they picked Elise’s parents backyard.
Set on two acres their home and yard couldn’t have been more welcoming location for the wedding. Of course 100 people in the average home isn’t comfortable so a tent was the way to go.
With the ceremony in the front yard all guests had to do was walk around to the back to enjoy the rest of the event. The yard, the space, and of course the reception in open air tent.
We designed a round ceremony site so the couple was literally in-circled in love as they said their vows.
With this intimate setting escort cards only made sense. And to class it up that much more; escort cards a top of some bubbly for guests as they entered.
Being out on her family’s property it was fitting to bring lots of green and natural elements into the wedding design. With touches of pinks, fuchsia and, burgundy and accented with gold and champagne, everything looked like it was perfectly in place at this chic celebration.
