Jill & Rob’s Qualico Family Centre Wedding
Jill & Rob hired us long distance to help them bring together their wedding. We jumped on board with Day of Coordination as well as Commissioner Services so from the beginning I knew it was going to be a special wedding, where we got to be extra involved. They picked a beautiful day for their Qualico Family Center wedding.
Like we do with all of our Day of Coordination couples we had two itinerary planning meetings to get us organized. Jill was always on top of everything, relax, and so ready for her wedding.
It’s so rewarding when clients listen to our suggestions and advice, even when we’re not doing the planning, and things they should get done, when they should get them done, and deadlines in between meetings. It makes it easier for them to stay on top of things, keeps the stress off and, not let important steps along engagement be missed, or even worse; not enjoyed (think about going to your showers and parties thrown in your honour but you’re too stressed with the wedding planning to truly enough them – ick!)
Planning long distance is never an issue for us, we simply just work around the different time zones, and either Skype or FaceTime (and send as many emails back and forth as needed). And working long distance with Jill and Rob was no exception. We set up our meetings and got right to it.
As the day you came closer and closer we got more and more excited to be part of the day. We knew it was gonna be a lot of fun, and they were going to be surrounded with some amazing people.
Jill took extra care to bring in personal details, fun decor, and just make the day all around enjoyable for all of her people.
They had mentioned in one of our meetings that they’d really like to stop for a drink and some snacks at a pub. It’s so important to make sure that even in the midst of the busyness of the day and taking photos, you get to do some of these fun things as well. We managed to time it all out well give them a nice time shooting darts and having a beer.
Jill and Rob pick some beautiful colours to go along with their Qualico Family Center wedding which if you know Qualico it’s in the woods of the Assiniboine Park. So really, what better choices than green, white, some rich tones of purple, and some rich rich burnt orange shades. Just look at her bouquet, need we say more?
These guys planned a pretty epic sweets table. Over 10 feet long there were all the sweets you could think of; candy, chocolate, and all sorts of baked goods too. The smell wafting throughout the space was hard to ignore and it took everything within us while setting up to not stuff our faces with candy.
It’s no secret that we love escort card tables. It was really fun setting up this minimalistic white and black table. All the cards, alphabetically, and in beautiful rows. It’s such a statement when you enter a room and see a table like this welcoming you.
Dinner, mixed with speeches, heaps of laughter, and of course the first dance, followed by tons and tons of dancing and merriment deep into the night. It was a beautiful day and we were so happy to be a part of it.
