Carleigh & Evan

Carleigh & Evan had the most beautiful direction for their day. With help from family and friends, and some very handy dads they brought together their stunning and personal wedding. We were so excited to get to be a part of it all!

From the Bride:

“Our wedding day came and went in the blink of an eye but it could not have been more perfect! We were worried about the weather as our wedding was outdoors in a tent on Evans parent’s acreage. Luckily, the weather was hot and sunny and there was not a cloud in the sky. We shared laughs, happy tears and made memories we will never forget.

Evan and I began planning our special day a year and a half in advance. With the help of Pinterest, we were able to narrow down our ideas and come up with a clear vision for the wedding. Evan and I have always loved vintage and rustic home decor and it seemed like a no brainer to have a vintage/rustic themed wedding. Our colour palette included eggplant, floral green and cream. We tied in a lot of wood, lace and burlap and I had to have an endless abundance of wildflowers, succulents and hydrangeas.

The vintage items I was interested in incorporating into the wedding were difficult to find and many of the items had to be built and/or pieced together. I scoured antique shops and thrift stores and asked friends to borrow items. My dad was a huge help and built most of the large decor pieces. He did a beautiful job on the old fashioned popcorn cart, rustic dessert wagon and table numbers, just to name a few. All of the handmade items made our wedding that much more special and meaningful to us.

Evan and I wanted to have a few surprises for our guests and we thought yard games, a scotch and cigar bar, photo booth and a hotdog stand for the late night snack would be fun additions. Hearing our guests excitement and comments about these surprises made Evan and I so happy and made all of the planning worth it. We knew we would not have been able to do everything alone and we were so thankful for the love and support from our family, friends and our wedding planner Amanda Douglas. It was such a truly special day!”
