A Crisp Winter’s Day Inspiration Shoot
We’ve always been the biggest fan of rich deep blues. For this Crisp Winter’s Day Shoot we designed around the colour palette of deep vibrant blue, earthy purples, marsala, ice blue and, gold. After developing the colour palette and design a little more we add it in different shades and tones of brass and bought in bronze to balance it out.
We wanted to have a beautiful and elegant mix of nature and class. We’re huge fan of a rectangle table because there’s so much more you can do with the decor. You’re not as much limited to the center of the table but rather you can bring out the decor and elongate it through the centre of the table.
We love of lots of detail but in a clean way, so we brought in different elements to tie together the design. You’ll see that in the different heights of the candles holders, the bronze acorns and even in the beautifully detailed plates.
We wanted to do a colour palette like this to show a great example of a winter wedding but that wasn’t holiday themed. We think that a lot of people get really stuck on winter weddings, and think that they have to be either Christmas or holiday theme and we really don’t feel the same.
It seems that there’s not as much inspiration as their should be out there on different ways to do winter weddings in a non-themed direction. So we wanted to take on the challenge of doing something in the this colour palette that was a little different than what we’ve seen as examples.
We’re totally smitten over the bronze and how it accents and works with the beautiful blues and purples into tablecloth and floral arrangement.
We wanted to bring a touch of nature, and of spring, to the table design as well as bringing a little bit of a warm pop so we added these beautiful detailed floral and bird patterned plates.
To soften up the rich tones we mixed in touches of ice blue throughout the stationary and of course in the grand 4 tiered cake.
This type of tablescape could be done for a beautiful winter wedding or event, a woodland style wedding in the middle of summer, even a barn wedding to chic it up a little bit and not go to usual and expected route of burlap and blush pink.
A big thanks to all the wonderful vendors that helped us bring it all together:
