Jess & Liam’s Spring Rustic Wedding Barn Wedding

Jess and Liam had the most wonderful spring wedding at the Rustic Wedding Barn. A Rustic Wedding Barn wedding is always lovely and charming. The location is easy to get to, there’s the perfect amount of trees, yet a lot of yard space, and having both the hay shed and the main barn and now the little B&B; it’s just fantastic.

Jess & Liam had their challenges in the wedding planning process. Liam being from Ireland and in the process of immigrating left them separate for a good chunk of the planning. We did our best however, Skype-ing him in and making sure that everyone was in the loop.

It was the most wonderful day when we got to start planning in person. I’m not sure that Liam ever missed a planning meeting. Even if he was tired and occasionally started to fall asleep (the man worked a hard physical job – I don’t blame him) he was still there ready to support Jess in all the wedding planning decisions.

The girls had some bubbly while getting all dolled up in their cute floral robs.

To follow the flow of custom and personalized things these scotch rocks for the guys were a perfect additional to the Groomsmen gifts.

For the boys there was plenty of scotch and beer flowing as they got ready. Starting the day off right, to really put them in the wedding spirits, so I’m told is the Irish way.

They were off getting ready and doing photos while we were finishing up setting up the space.

Country venues like this are really great for also getting ready at, which Jess & Liam took advantage of. It’s nice for us too because the couple is on site if for any reason we need to chat with them or they need us quickly. We can just zip over instead of having a phone call. Of course we accommodate whatever we need to but it’s nice to be able to see them early on and in person.

Liam got a custom suit made and it was perfect. His skin tone and hair colour couldn’t have gone better with the shade of navy. GQ all the way.

First looks get us every time!

The day was warm, it was early spring and these two were getting hitched. We couldn’t be more excited for them. And I’m sure you can tell with how many photos there are. I just couldn’t narrow it down any further! These two are just too dang cute.

Ok, kids in general are pretty dang cute but I can now confidently say that Irish kids just might be that much cutest the then average. I just wanted to take this little dude home – he was seriously adorable.

Jess had beautiful, bright and, vibrant visions for her day and we were 100% on board. You’ll see that in the wedding flowers and the vibrant colours used, in the bridesmaids dresses and all the beautiful jewel tones. And you’ll see the classy touches – to bring it all together – in some really nice champagne tones throughout the reception via linens, lighting, and candle light (tip: they don’t allow live flame in the Rustic Wedding Barn so the couple went with as many LED candles as they could for their tables).

Jess got a custom dress made. It’s a process with many fittings, choices, and adjustments but I would have to say (on her behalf) that it was so worth it. She looked stunning, it fit perfectly, and it was so her.

The ceremony kicked off the celebrations followed quickly by a cocktail hour outside and on the main floor of the barn. The yard was scattered with oversized games which are perfect to be played with drink in hand. Appetizers were passed, and the bar was open too.

I got to marry Jess & Liam and I couldn’t have been more honoured. It was so sweet getting to work with them putting together all of the personal elements and touches to make the ceremony theirs.

A Celtic hand-fasting ceremony was a must to include in the ceremony.

Instead of favours Jess & Liam gave guests the opportunity to decide where a donation on their behalf would go. They picked three charities that were dear to their hearts and guests could put jewels in a corresponding geo.

Jess and Liam opted to have many different stationary elements to keep their guest entertained as well. There were programs, fans, menus, activity books for the kids, signage, cousy catchers; just so many different things for you to engage with which is always fun at a wedding.

A sweets table was a must. A cake in a coral ombre was a perfect sublet nod to the bright colours throughout the wedding. Candy for the kids, cookies and cupcakes for all, and some allergy friendly options too.

Having so many family at the wedding and having traveled and lived so much life, the speeches were full of lots of stories, fun memorable, and a few embarrassing ones as well, to really get people laughing and celebrating.

The stationary is also a really beautiful touch with all of the coral and teal text.
