Linda & Braden had a wonderful wedding. A rainy grey day but that ended up really vibing with their jewel-toned wedding. Their colours were so on point for Mother Natured mood that day.

Getting ready in the same location as your reception is wonderful. Don’t underestimate how easy and simple it can make the day for you. If you need a freshen up, want to switch shoes (or outfits), store your gifts or cards in a safe space you can just pop up to your room. And if you get a little overwhelmed and need a minute alone it’s a great cosy space to sneak away to for a minute. The wedding day can be very intense so it’s great to have a plan for a little breather now and then.

We love a good first look and it’s so great when you don’t have to go far or have an elaborate plan for this personal and intimate moment. In Linda & Braden’s case, it was as simple as using the steps of the hotel. See, so pretty right? (And the Fort Garry Hotel steps have great walls and spots where your photographers and videographers can hide behind)

Can we take a moment to appreciate this dress? All this beading can be a little intimidating for some but Linda took it on and utterly rocked it.

Yes, you’re seeing this right. Linda had two dresses. One for the ceremony, earlier photos, and then come the reception dress number two (the beaded wonder) made its appearance.

Pro Tip: If you’re going to have two outfits be sure to do another mini-photo session when you’ve changed. It’s so sad to spend all that money on another dress or suit and not have it shown off a little. If the timing works consider doing it right before you go out for twilight photos. You’ll sneak out, get some great photos, and come back with a little wow for your guests too.
