Kristi’s biggest concern was that her husband-to-be would get a sneak peak of her walking across the church grounds en route to the ceremony. Cameron literally hid in a broom closet until the coast was clear. We love these sweet little details on the day!
The church, beautiful as is, was simply decorated: two large flower arrangements sat on the altar, setting the tone for her peacock-colour inspired decor. The ceremony was sweet and personal: the priest knew the couple so well he was adding little comments perfectly tailored to the couple.
You could tell how close Kristi is with her family: her two sisters, Sarah and Katie and brother, Jamie stood beside her as bridesmaids and bridesman, alongside her maid-of-honour, Deanna. The bond of friendship between Cameron and his groomsmen was undeniable, showing their support for the groom by joking around and being there for whatever he needed throughout the day.
Kristi grew up in the heart of Transcona, so no surprise their pictures took place at her local hangout, Park Circle: a beautifully treed park, walking distance from the church and her parents’ home.
Keeping everything close to home, the reception was held in the church hall. This family and wedding party, though, managed to turn a basic room into a fantastic reception venue. French folding doors lit with patio lights were the backdrop for the head table. Her theme of jewel-toned peacock colours were found throughout the wedding, including real peacock feathers from a local farm as the focal point of their centrepieces. The bridesmaids each wore different dresses but all in great shades of aubergine that brought the theme and decor together.
Kristi is blessed with a musical family, acting as the entertainment for the evening. First up was her dad, dressed in orange overalls, playing with his child-friendly band, Just Kiddin’. Up next was her brother Jamie and his band James and the Giants to get the guests on their feet and dancing.
The evening wrapped up around midnight, not for a lack of great time, but because the bride and groom had a plane to catch! In classic wedding fashion, Kristi and Cameron left their reception and heading directly to the airport for their honeymoon in Las Vegas.
Congrats you two! It was great getting to be a part of your day!
