Lauren & Peter’s Clear Top Tent Wedding
Lauren & Peter had the most beautiful clear top tent wedding. They planned a beautiful day, out in the woods, in the sunshine, with all their closest friends and family. We were so honoured to get to be a part of it and help them bring together all the fine details that made their day so personally theirs.
From the bride:
Peter and I spent the night together in a bridal suite at the Ft. Gary hotel and woke up to an unfortunately rainy morning, but still so excited (and also a little nervous). He went to the tallest poppy for brunch with the groomsmen while the ladies came to our suite for some cheese and bubbly while we got ready.
Luckily, the sun broke through the clouds just in time for us to have our first look at a beautiful wall of vines our photographer scouted on the east side of the hotel.
After some tears and a seriously successful photo-op we went around the city to classic Winnipeg wedding photo locals like the Art Gallery and the Exchange District to get some amazing shots with our beautiful bridal party.
By the time we arrived to Cielo’s garden the weather was perfect and the sky was blue – exactly how we had both pictured the day going! Our ceremony was short, sweet and made even more special by the simple, beautifully decorated chapel.
Dinner was fantastic, the wine and Coors Banquet (one of Peter and I’s go-to beers) were flowing and Peter and I were over the moon happy to be surrounded by all our close family and friends. We felt like the luckiest couple in the world. After a gorgeous late-September sunset which bathed the tent in golden light and shone softly through the forest’s birch trees we had a few heart-felt (and hilarious speeches) followed by the first dance and cake cutting – then everyone hit the dance floor!
Then, the moon came out and everyone ventured into the brisk autumn night to watch the lunar eclipse that was happening on our wedding night. There was barely a cloud in the sky and we were over the moon (pun intended) that such a spectacular sight was occurring on our special day. After the lunar eclipse passed, we had our sparkler sendoff photo-op, danced some more, and had a late-night snack of delicious delivery pizza. Literally, best day ever!
The reception tent and head table were decorated beyond my wildest dreams. Everything was perfect, from the flowers to the greenery to the wine on the table, exactly how I pictured but better! Being a bit of a control freak I couldn’t believe that my plans were executed to such a perfect degree (thank you to Amanda Douglas, my Mom and my two of my sister’s in-law for making it happen).
