Nageen & Jawed Family Wedding During COVID

Planning a wedding during COVID is something no one wants to do. We sure never thought we’d be planning in these sorts of conditions. But we are. And we are here, doing our job, and doing what we can for our clients.

Last summer we weren’t sure how things would progress but we knew where restrictions were at week to week and worked with each of our couples to do what we could to celebrate safely.

With Nageen & Jawed they made the last-minute decision to go ahead with a small wedding, in Nageen’s family home. We chatted a little a few weeks prior and were hired five days before the wedding to bring it all together. When you’re that deep into the stress of a pandemic sometimes you just need someone to help you “seed the light”, walk through it all with clarity, focus, and someone that can bring the pretty and grace back into your wedding.

Nageen wanted to use the family home so we started with a site visit and figured out how we were going to utilize the space. When you’re having an at-home wedding sometimes it’s best to really clear the space and bring in some unique pieces to make it feel special.

The day started with the ceremony in the living room, with snacks in the dining room. The home is a split level and made the division of space that much better. It’s amazing what a little step up or down will do to separate a space.

The couple went out for some photos and we reset the space for dinner. All the family’s furniture was taken out of the space for the day with the exception of the dining table which expanded large enough to seat all ten guests.

The arch from the ceremony stayed in place and was a lovely backdrop for the dinner. To keep within regulations we were in and out of each space during the day’s events but it was so lovely to see each space take life and see the photos post-event and have the praise of the couple and family as we finished and before we tucked away and the guest arrived.
