Q: “Looking for suggestions of what details and info to include on invites and rsvps..I don’t want to forget anything!”

A: There’s a lot of details that go into planning your invites. You can keep it simple and put it all on the invite or spread it out with RSVP cards, info cards, and map cards. We’ve laid out all the details in a few different blog posts to help:

Q: “What’s the best timeline to go with for the wedding day? I’m worried about staying on schedule. I just want to make sure I provide enough time for all the pictures without rushing or worrying!”

A: The best timeline for a wedding, any wedding, is a timeline that includes what I call “time buffers”. Think of the little things like running to the bathroom, fixing a snag in your dress, greeting guests longer then you expect, traffic. The most realistic timing is timing that keeps in mind these sorts of things.

A couple of tips: 45 per girl, per service for getting ready. If you have two stylists coming for hair and and two for makeup then that cuts your time in half because there will be some double duty going on. And try building your timeline from the end of the night backward. Think of when you want to start dancing and work backward to see when you should really start. Bring snacks! Stopping to get food can be a real time suck so just plan ahead (your wedding party will thank you).

Q: “I need A LOT of help finding gifts for my wedding party!”

A: Most people spend between $60 – $150 on each person in their wedding party. If you have very practical wedding party consider simply paying for their hair, makeup, or attire.

Every time we find something we think would make a great gift we pin it here. There are lots of great (lux and practical) gifts ideas there!

Q: “What are some last minute tips for a bride a week from her wedding?”

A: Great question! Here are our top tips:

  1. Pack up all your decor and label it well for your Wedding Planner
  2. Do up a timeline for your wedding party – they’ll want to know what the plan is for the day
  3. Make sure you get your nails done a few days before the wedding. That way if anything chips you have time to get them fixed
  4. Know your teardown time and have someone assigned to take care of this for you (make sure you have a good list for this person as well!)
  5. Take lots of pictures – this time flies by!
  6. Have your vows and thank you speech done well ahead of time – don’t wait till this week to do it.
  7. Go for a couple last minute tanning sections – make sure you get rid of those lines.
  8. Make sure you’re drinking a lot of water – you want that bridal glow and not a cold before the wedding
  9.  Don’t forget to purchase and bring your marriage license!
  10. Buy yourself a few emergency items – just in case
