We’re excited to share with you another vendor spotlight post and this time on Modern Pixel Photography. We’ve been lucky enough to work with them on photo shoots and weddings and just love their work and of course their great personalities too! Here’s our little interview with them!
Tell us a little about yourself.
We are a husband and wife team of wedding photojournalists. We’ve shot 60 weddings in 4 years and commit to approximately 15 weddings per year. Every couple has a story and our goal is to document that story through images that escape “traditional” wedding photography. Our main focus with clients is the relationship we develop. Our process focuses on trust and most importantly, having a good time. This allows us to capture images with presence, impact and meaning.
What do you love most about your job?
The people. As important as the images are, they will never truly represent “you” if you don’t connect with the person taking them. We LOVE going above and beyond for a clients and will ALWAYS put their needs ahead of anything else.
What inspired you to star your business?
Lisa and I, on a whim, took some photos for a friend at their wedding. It was totally unplanned, and informal yet we loved every second of it. When we left that wedding our decision was made- we wanted to do it again. We’ve always been great teammates, and this was something we both enjoyed. From there, the business grew rapidly. We wouldn’t be where we are now if it wasn’t for the amazing people we met along the way. And for that, we are grateful.
What sets your work apart?
About two years into our business, we truly began shooting for ourselves. We always wanted our work to represent who we were as artists, but never took those words literally. With the market of wedding photography saturated, we often felt like we HAD to display images that brides wanted to see. But traditional wedding photography never excited us. What excited us was images with compositional and environmental impact or special moments that were the true foundation to a wedding story. By sharing those types of images, we knew we would always be sought after to shoot what was true to us.
