We’re excited to share with you another vendor spotlight post and this time on Two Chicks & a Bag of Makeup. We’ve been lucky enough to work with Sarah and her ladies on photo shoots and weddings and just love them and of course Sarah & her girls do stunning work for our brides! Here’s our little interview with Sarah!
Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Sarah Brooker and I am the owner and lead artist for 2 Chicks and a Bag of Makeup. I have been doing freelance makeup for over 12 years in the wedding industry.
I now have a team of very talented artists that work for me and together through the 12 years, 2 Chicks has beautified over 1100 wedding parties!
What inspired you to star your business or inspired in your work?
My inspiration is the bride, and her wedding party. Every bride has different needs, wants, and dreams for their special day. Bringing them an extra splash of beauty is truly an honour and an amazing experience every time. 2 Chicks pride ourselves on a natural and fresh (or drama if they wish) makeup application. Longevity and comfort are key, and a happy, beautiful bride
What do you love most about your job?
I love being in their home (or hotel room) on their wedding day, Being there as one of the last steps before they walk down the isle. Seeing the flowers arrive, watching the parents having the nerves set in, and of course the wedding dress. I love working with other industry veterans that I can call friends, that have been taking pictures of myself and my team doing makeup through the years, and also meeting some of the new amazing talent, in photography, videography, wedding planning, flowers etc.
So many brides and bridemaids will ask me “How do you give up all your weekends?” It’s Simple, I’m not giving up anything, I love doing makeup and I love working in the wedding industry, all 12 years of it, and all the many more to go.
